Example of poor candidate for adhesive bonding

Pratley Adhesive Products will bond to most materials. However, some types of plastics are not good candidates for bonding no matter what type of adhesive is used.

A good method for determining if a substrate is a good candidate for adhesive bonding is to put a droplet of water onto the surface. If it rolls around on the surface (similar to mercury) or forms a spherical drop, you can conclude that the plastic is not a good candidate for adhesive bonding.

If the drop of water spreads out over the surface or "wets" the surface well, you are good to go!
